Welcome to the Combat Ops Axe Arena! Our indoor and outdoor axe throwing courts in Fort Wayne offer high-quality action and competition, all while keeping you safe. Axe throwing is a fast-growing American sport and is becoming more standardized through associations like the World Axe Throwing League.

What is axe throwing?

Axe throwing is an exhilarating sport where competitors throw axes at a target and try to get as close as they can to the bullseye. At Combat Ops Entertainment, our Axe Throwing Arena gives friends all the tools they need to practice before squaring off in a group tournament. After a some quick training and a practice session, the tournament begins and results in the crowning of an axe throwing champion!

Our axe throwing sessions are run by trained experts who will show you how to safely handle an axe and chuck it with accuracy while giving you plenty of tips along the way.

How Does Combat Ops Entertainment Offer Axe Throwing?

When you make a reservation with us, you get 2 targets and those targets are for your group only. We offer 2 full-size targets in our indoor, digital targeting system arena. And we have 4 targets in our outdoor pavilion. You may book reservations for 30 minutes, 1-hour, and 2-hours depending on your group size. You may book your party HERE - please note our online system requires 72 hours to make your reservation. You may also call our front desk at 260-999-4940 and press option 6 to make a reservation. Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes! A waiver must be signed before entering the Axe Throwing Arena. The waiver can be found HERE.

Is there an age limit?

To enjoy our Fort Wayne axe throwing arena, participants must be 12 years or older and have a signed waiver on file by a parent or guardian.

Will someone teach me how to throw an axe?

Absolutely! You will be with an expert instructor while in the axe throwing arena. The first part of your experience is spent learning the safety rules and procedures of how to handle an axe. With proper instruction, practice, and by following our guided procedures, you will be able to safely throw an axe by the end of your session.

How much does it cost?

We also rent the lanes a minimum of 30 minutes. 2 players will have their own target for 30 minutes and the cost is $50/30 minutes. Groups of four or more may rent the lanes for an hour for $100 - each additional person is $25. These prices include access to the full arena which contains two targets and a cozy bar-style lounge behind the throwing area. Our axe throwing arena rental also includes a dedicated "axe master" to teach and score the games. You may book your axe throwing party HERE.

Is axe throwing safe?

Yes. Throwing axes is similar to other target sports. If participants follow the instructions and safety rules explained by our staff and use common sense, throwing an axe is safe. Our experienced staff are in the throwing arena with you at all times and will monitor your throws for safety and guide you through the entire process. Only participants that have gone through our safety course first are allowed to enter the throwing arena.

Can I bring my own axe?

No. We will supply the axes.

Do you allow alcohol?

We have a large selection of beer, wine, & wine slushies. These beverages may also be brought outside to our pavilion.

How many people can participate?

There can be up to 12 participants in indoor Axe Throwing Arena at one time. Our outdoor pavilion can host up to 60 people.

What are the Rules?

  • No horseplay
  • A waiver MUST be signed before entering the axe throwing arena.
  • Only players who are throwing axes are permitted in the axe throwing area/court.
  • Never joke or gesture with an axe.
  • Never handle axes until told to do so.
  • No open toed shoes allowed.
  • Never throw an axe while a person is down range.
  • Never throw an axe until given permission to do so.
  • Only 1 person allowed in either lane at any time.
  • If you are not throwing, you must remain behind the safety zone.
  • Follow all directions given by the range official.
  • We will not tolerate any misconduct. If you do not follow the previously stated rules in any way you will be asked to leave the area immediately – basically…don’t be a “DUMB-AXE!”
